Psychological First Aid – Resiliency-Based Support for Stress, Crisis, and Emotional Well-Being

Psychological First Aid Course

Psychological First Aid is an evidence-based, classroom-focused programme that helps individuals support themselves and others during stress, crisis, loss, and trauma. Unlike clinical mental health courses, this training takes a preventative, coping-focused approach that builds emotional resilience. It teaches practical strategies using the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model—an internationally recognized framework for community support.

At VO2 Health Focus, our psychological first aid training helps learners recognize emotional distress, respond safely, and connect people to helpful resources. Whether supporting coworkers, clients, loved ones, or community members, this course provides clear guidance for offering compassionate, non-clinical support. Training includes case studies, group discussion, and realistic scenarios.

This course is ideal for workplaces, frontline staff, educators, volunteers, caregivers, and anyone who wants to better support others during emotional or psychological stress. The focus is on practical steps and confidence—without complex terminology or a mental health background.

What Makes Psychological First Aid Unique?

This training teaches you how to notice early signs of stress, grief, and trauma. Participants learn respectful ways to support others while maintaining healthy boundaries and self-care.

The Red Cross model helps learners:

  • Look for safety concerns and signs of distress
  • Listen actively and without judgment
  • Link people to supports, coping tools, and community resources
  • Live by reinforcing healthy long-term wellbeing

Because the course focuses on prevention, learners gain skills that strengthen resilience at work, at home, and in the community.

The content is based on current research and adapted for Canadian workplaces and community settings.
