The Red Cross Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) online course helps organizations meet public health and safety guidelines. It is suitable for all workplaces, including frontline services, retail, community and social services, and environments supporting vulnerable populations.

Course Content

Participants will learn:

  • Proper handwashing techniques
  • What is Influenza? Symptoms and ways to manage
  • Pandemic Influenza
  • Personal Preparedness
  • Personal protective equipment: correct use, removal, and disposal
  • Business Continuity Planning

This course is based on current, evidence-based guidance from the World Health Organization, Public Health Agency of Canada, and the International Red Cross/Red Crescent.
